What can we do?

Right now, I'm on the frontlines of the fight to defend Oregonians from Donald Trump's dangerous, harmful policies and executive orders and Elon Musk's incursion into our federal agencies.

Since Trump's inauguration, I've:

• Rallied with Americans at the Treasury to fight back against Elon Musk's egregious power grab and seizure of sensitive Treasury data, including Social Security and Medicare payment systems
• Led Democrats on the Budget Committee in a boycott of the behind-closed-doors business meeting moving Russ Vought, Trump's dangerous pick to be the Director of OMB, to the full Senate for a vote
• Organized a press conference and my colleagues to hold the Senate floor overnight to oppose Russ Vought's confirmation vote
• Sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio demanding public answers on the gutting of USAID
• Demanded reinstatement of fired Inspectors General
• Continued to vote against Trump's corrupt nominees; I won't vote for another nominee or motion to proceed to a bill until this Constitutional crisis is over

And, I've been traveling across Oregon holding town halls, talking to Oregonians, and reading your messages. Here's one question I've been asked over and over: "What can I do to help combat Trump's dangerous MAGA agenda?"

My answer is this: You're already doing it.

• When you fight his illegal program cuts, his unqualified appointees, or MAGA legislation by calling your representatives, you're showing your power
• When you volunteer and get involved with a local progressive organization to ensure our communities are taken care of and that we have strong Democrats up and down the ballot, you're showing your power
• When you magnify your voice by joining an advocacy organization like Indivisible, MoveOn, or Working Families Party or a group that organizes around an issue you care about, like Planned Parenthood for reproductive health or Sunrise or 350.org for climate issues, you’re showing your power
• When you donate to a cause or campaign that directly fights Trump's dangerous, destructive agenda, you're showing your power

The most important thing you can do to ensure we stop Trump's agenda is this: Elect more Democrats up and down the ballot in your next election. That means getting involved in your local school board races, your city and county council races, your state Supreme Court elections, and your Congressional races. Having one more progressive, Democratic elected official in office is one more person we can count on to stop Trump's agenda.

We have a lot to do together to win the battle, but what I know is that this team won't back down from the fight.
