Today’s inauguration

Today, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as our next President, and I will be in attendance.

I didn't come to this decision lightly. I went back and forth on whether or not to attend the inauguration of a man who is already mobilizing a destructive MAGA agenda. But I believe it's my responsibility to bear witness to the peaceful transfer of power, a pillar of our democracy.

The peaceful transfer of power is an essential factor for the stability, legitimacy, and resilience of our democratic institutions that have been under attack in recent years.

I disagree with President Trump on many policies, but I support the legitimacy of his election and inauguration. This process is vital to reinforce much-needed trust in our electoral system.

Make no mistake: I will fight the MAGA Republican agenda—one that threatens to undermine critical protections for working families, women, democracy, and our planet. But today, I will be in attendance to witness the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next.

Onward!
