We’re here to help the American people, not pursue distracting proposals

In the last week, we've heard Donald Trump concoct distracting proposals like renaming the Gulf of Mexico and using military force to take over Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal to distract from the harmful agenda he and his MAGA cronies want to implement.

Right now, people want their elected officials to make their lives better. Folks are struggling to afford rent, feed their families, and pay for health care. Donald Trump's latest proposals do nothing to alleviate the stress everyday Americans are feeling.

I was elected to the Senate to get things done for Oregonians. No matter who is in office, I'm always focused on finding real solutions that put people first. Lowering costs, investing in local communities, and pushing for climate action that protects our planet and our health are issues I'm in D.C. working on every day with you in mind.

We know Trump's playbook from his first term: He plans to distract, deflect, and divert instead of actually governing and getting things done. He wants people to think our government is broken and ineffective when he is the one breaking it by trying to rig the government against the people.

We must stand strong against the MAGA agenda, and if we stay focused throughout the next four years, we can continue to deliver solutions. That's what I, along with my Democratic Senate colleagues, plan on doing.
