Defending our democracy

Four years ago, Donald Trump incited a violent insurrection, unleashing a mob of MAGA extremists who conspired to overturn the will of the people. The assault on our democracy is still happening now, andwe have to fight harder than ever against MAGA extremism because Trump will try to finish what he started.

Here's the catch: It may not look as obvious this time around because his tactics will be different. He'll enact roadblocks to make voting harder for all of us, install Trump loyalists at every level of government, and give billionaires and corporate polluters free rein to dictate the Republican agenda.

Our democracy survived four years ago because people like you stood up to protect it and have been safeguarding it ever since. In 2025, we need to dig deep and do even more to ensure it can repel every attack Trump and MAGA extremists hurl at it.

Right now, we face unprecedented challenges. The road ahead will not be easy, but the work we do in the coming months and years to ensure a functioning democracy will have a profound impact on the lives of Oregonians and the American people.

I know we won't back down from this fight.
