We’ve done it once again

Once again, Oregon has held a successful election using Vote by Mail.

Nobody waited in long lines. There were no unusual voting machine shortages in certain precincts. Everyone who wanted to vote got to vote from the comfort of their own homes and send back their ballots in a postage-paid envelope.

Vote by Mail has worked for decades.

Oregonians have been voting by mail for over 20 years, and it's why we consistently have some of the highest rates of voter participation in the country. It's safe, secure, and leaves a paper trail — and there's no waiting in long lines or bad weather to cast a ballot. It's past time for Vote by Mail to be the law of the land, and when we pass the Freedom to Vote Act, it will be.

The strength of our democracy depends on Americans' ability to make their voices heard. That's why I'm championing the Freedom to Vote Act to help expand voting by mail, early voting, and other reforms to make voting easier and more secure.

It's 2024, and MAGA Republicans across the United States are rolling back common-sense voting laws and implementing new restrictions to disenfranchise voters of color, younger voters, and anyone they think will vote against their extreme, out-of-touch agenda.

The ballot box is the beating heart of our democracy, and we need to be doing everything we can to protect and expand access to it. I know you're with me in this fight because we know Vote by Mail is a democracy issue, not a political issue. I'll keep doing everything I can to pass the Freedom to Vote Act, take Vote by Mail nationwide, and make sure all Americans can have their voices heard in our democracy.
