Defending Medicare
Last year, for the first time ever, a majority of Americans eligible for Medicare were on privatized Medicare Advantage plans.
When Medicare Advantage was created, it wasn't a bad idea with the promise that companies could provide more health care at lower cost. But study after study shows that they actually provide less care at higher costs.
Why is that?
When people have health issues, the companies actually make money by not delivering health care. At minimum, people should have the option to choose between Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage.
Republicans want to take that away. That's just wrong. We shouldn't be at the mercy of for-profit companies for health care.
If Trump wins in 2024, Republicans are plotting to fully privatize Medicare. They want to "make Medicare Advantage the default enrollment option" for people who are eligible for Medicare.
That means they want to end traditional Medicare as we know it.
Democrats are focused on putting people before corporate profits by defending Medicare, but we can't keep up the fight if we lose the White House and the Democratic Senate Majority in November.
We can defend Medicare from extreme MAGA cuts and privatization by coming together to save the Democratic Senate Majority. Will you join us in the fight by pitching in to support The Blue Wave Project's mission of defending the Democratic Senate Majority?
Onward!
