Here’s the situation
Here's the situation. I am deeply worried about the future of our country, but I also know we have the power to make real change and keep us on the right path. We've done it before.
It's a scary year. For years, we have seen extremists building power in the Republican Party, and we are seeing that extremism reflected in the people they elect and their out-of-touch, anti-democratic agendas.
Now, we're facing an authoritarian crook as the likely Republican nominee for president. We need to stop him and his extreme agenda from taking over, and one way to do that is by holding the Senate.
We have made some huge strides in the last few years because of the Senate Democratic Majority. We confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, made historic investments in infrastructure, and passed the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS Act. And, we have A LOT more work to do – important work that will come to a screaming halt if Mitch McConnell and the Republicans win back control of the Senate next year.
We can't afford a repeat of what it was like under Majority Leader McConnell – stolen Supreme Court seats, tax cuts for corporate polluters and billionaires, and threats to Social Security and the Affordable Care Act. We need to build a strong ground game to make sure our competitive Senate races around the country have the resources they need to win.
We have a tough fight ahead of us to keep the Senate majority. Like I said, I'm worried about our future. But the future is worth fighting for. Are you with me? Please pitch in today to stop Mitch McConnell and his party from taking us backward!
