The Oregonian is reporting this morning that an independent poll shows Tina Kotek and Christine Drazan running neck-and-neck, with Drazan at 32%, Kotek at 31%, and Betsy Johnson at 18%. It's no wonder that the nonpartisan Cook Political Report has officially rated the Oregon governor's race as a toss-up.
I know you can feel it, too: Tina Kotek is in one of the tightest contests in the country. And while political prognosticators have fun thinking about how "interesting" her race is, we Oregonians have to deal with the very real threat that Oregon could elect an extremist Republican Governor who would be pro-gun, anti-abortion, polluter-friendly, and determined to give huge tax breaks to the wealthiest corporations.
