A powerful tool to protect democracy

Earlier today, the U.S. Senate took up the DISCLOSE Act — a bill to reject dark money from our politics.

And once again, Republicans were lockstep in using the secret, silent filibuster to block the Senate from even holding a debate on this critical pro-democracy law.

Ever since the disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court ruling, dark money has flooded our elections. We must do better and I'm not giving up the fight. Here's the way forward:

• We have to win two more U.S. Senate seats so that we can fix the filibuster and move forward on campaign finance reform (and voting rights, abortion rights, and so much more.)

• We have to retain control of the U.S. House so they can continue to be our partner in moving progressive legislation forward. As you know, control of the House goes through Oregon in 2022. We have THREE open seats – and we must win all three.
