Oregon is on the front lines of our nation's most important battles this election cycle. The most fundamental questions about who we are as a country will be answered by who we elect to our top posts.
Who can we trust to stand up for working families in Oregon?
I'm endorsing Val Hoyle for Congress to succeed Peter DeFazio – and Christina Stephenson to succeed Val as our Labor Commissioner.
You know what's at stake in the Congressional fight. The Republicans would love nothing more than to replace Peter DeFazio with an anti-worker MAGA Republican. That's why we need to nominate Val Hoyle to Congress – to make sure that a champion for working families is fighting for Oregon.
Meanwhile, as Val steps up to Congress, we have a choice about who to replace here as our state Labor Commissioner. And this May election is key – the ballot features Democrats and Republicans all competing against each other.
I'm supporting Christina Stephenson, a civil rights attorney, who is deeply qualified for the job. She's also been endorsed by the Oregon AFL-CIO and each of the last five labor commissioners, including Val. Christina will be a powerhouse champion for working families in the job that's all about standing up for working families.
Oregon is at a crossroads. National Republicans have set their sights on Oregon as they seek to impose their radical, anti-worker agenda.
Will we continue our longstanding tradition of electing bold leaders who fight for working families? Or will our progressive state become another casualty in the war against workers?
