Two more fighters for abortion rights
I'm just as angry as you are about today's vote in the Senate. Republicans in the Senate were in lockstep, blocking debate and an up-or-down vote to protect reproductive freedom and abortion rights for all Americans.
The leaked ruling and this failed vote are both milestones in an incredibly painful and scary moment for our nation. Access to abortion and the ability to control one's own body is a fundamental right, and I know the prospect of losing it is intensely personal to many. Whatever your story is, and whether it's about you, your partner, a family member, or a friend – I am committed to keep fighting for you.
We have a path to protect the right to abortion nationwide. The bottom line is even though we have a Senate majority who say they support codifying Roe v. Wade, we need two more Senators who will fight for the right to abortion and reform the filibuster so the MAGA minority doesn't get to veto our most basic rights.
Donate $3 today to help make Cheri Beasley of North Carolina and Val Demings of Florida those two Senators who will make the difference. Cheri Beasley is the first Black woman to serve as the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. She's been a tireless defender of civil rights her entire career, and she'll be a champion for women's rights in the Senate.
Val Demings was first elected to Congress in 2016. She courageously fought for democracy and decency during the Trump years, and has a rock solid pro-choice voting record.
Onward!
