We need more Climate Champions

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is a crisis and a tragedy of unspeakable proportions.

The invasion – and the global reaction to it – have brought the fight over fossil fuels into sharp relief.

We simply must end our dependence on oil and gas. To do that we must elect climate champions to the US Senate and the House of Representatives. Will you chip in $12 right now to fund our fight to elect Climate Champions?

Our addiction to oil and gas funds autocracies that commit atrocities on their own people and their neighbors.

Our addiction to oil and gas makes us vulnerable to economic shocks when supply chains are severed and multinational oil companies engage in price-gouging.

Our addiction to oil and gas means those oil-producing autocracies can engage in energy blackmail, altering the balance of power between nations and making it harder to defend democracy.

And, of course, our addiction to burning oil and gas for power is the cause of our climate crisis. We are pumping carbon pollution into the atmosphere at an alarming rate, leading to drought, famine, and extreme weather.
