We’re not going to let special interests buy our elections.
As 2021 comes to an end, I want to remind you to use your $50 gift to qualify for the Oregon political tax credit before it's too late.
Here's how it works:
If you donate $50 to a political campaign or organization in Oregon this year, you can claim that same $50 when you file taxes next year. The State of Oregon will either reduce your taxes by $50 or refund you $50. For folks filing jointly, your household gets a credit of $100.
Donate $50 today to qualify for the political tax credit and keep big money out of politics.
We've got a lot to fight for right here in Oregon next year – keeping Ron Wyden in the Senate, winning an open-seat election for governor, and some of the most critical Congressional elections in the country. And we must expand our Senate majority—50 seats is not enough.
I'm going to be deeply involved in those battles, but I need your help. Our candidates are going to be facing an onslaught of corporate cash funneled through dark money SuperPACs. We're going to win these elections and defend our progressive values the way we always have – with a powerhouse effort led by our grassroots champions. That's you!
We're not going to let special interests buy our elections. Donate $50 to fight the dark money.
We've got our work cut out for us. But we Oregonians have never shied away from a fight. Please join me in fighting to keep Oregon and the U.S. Senate blue in 2022.
Onward!
Jeff
p.s. A couple of important disclaimers: The Oregon Political Tax Credit is not refundable, so if you don't pay taxes, you won't get the credit. The credit is only available for donations to campaigns and organizations in Oregon. And it's only available to individuals with taxable income under $75,000, and under $150,000 for couples filing jointly.
