A decade ago, we made enormous progress in health care by passing the Affordable Care Act, expanding coverage and improving affordability for millions. Obamacare has been a critical lifeline in the pandemic.
But our health care system still suffers from gaps in coverage, unaffordable plans, and employers large and small struggle to keep up with rising health care costs. And for many Americans, figuring out their health care options is a puzzle of changing options, confusing paperwork, and shifting providers.
Meanwhile, Medicare is the most popular health plan in America. By and large, patients love it, reporting high satisfaction with Medicare's simplicity, comprehensive coverage, and affordability.
The solution is staring us in the face.
What if we allowed every American to simply... choose Medicare?
What if employers could choose to simply enroll their workers in Medicare?
Medicare is the most cost-effective health care in America today. So let's open it up. It would be a simple, seamless health care plan available to everyone and a pathway to Medicare for All.
