Every American citizen should have the right to vote. And so, we should make it easy to exercise that right.
Generations of Americans have marched, fought, and even died for that right to vote.
And yet our democracy is under attack from within, by people who want to restrict voting rights, limit access, and fight — sometimes literally — anyone who says otherwise.
That's where our For the People Act comes in, because it's part of a critical effort to protect our democracy and expand voting access.

Early voting. Voting by mail. Automatic voter registration. Making it easier and less burdensome for people to vote. This is what we need — not endless lines, miles of red tape, and limit after limit on how American citizens can exercise their rights.
In Oregon, we know that voting at home and returning your ballot by mail makes voting easy and accessible to everyone. Everyone in America should have the opportunity to vote at home, too.
Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their allies have fought us for years. Fiercely. Because they know that if more people vote, they're less likely to win.
They're defending their power, not our democracy.
I'm fighting this fight with all my energy, because I fear our nation cannot survive a further erosion of basic democratic rights. And the only response must be a historic expansion of voting access.
And I know you support it too. Because we didn't fight so hard over the last few years and come this far to give up now.
